Search/Meta search Engines

As I mentioned in the previous post, I use Google the most of the search engines.  I was intrigued especially by the meta search websites.  I searched shelter dogs in Google and found over a million hits and then searched Yometa and found more.  I will try this with a less general, more specific search.  I'm fairly sure the meta search search engines will be give me more precise hits.
